Book Review ~ "Waiting For Morning" by Margaret Brownley

Waiting for MorningWaiting for Morning by Margaret Brownley
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book started off with a lot of promise. Set in the 1800s
where women were fighting to get the vote and be taken seriously from men.

Molly, our protagonist, is a determined young lady who is tasked to physically and financially care for her younger, disabled brother.

Donny, Molly’s 14 year old brother, is very intelligent and frustrated with his inability to walk. His character was a bit fickle. He would determine to learn to better his physical self and then the next moment give up.

Caleb is the new doctor in town. He takes a shine to Molly and her brother and promises to work with Donny to better his physical situation. I like it that he does not promise miracles but that he does it with a firm, loving hand. His character is genuine and gentle and I really liked him.

Eleanor is a stubborn ranch owner who is searching for an heiress. She has given up a lot in her life to see the success of her ranch. As she is entering retirement years, her search is growing urgent.

The novel was well written and had humorous moments. The ending was a twist and I must admit I was disappointed in how it turned out. Overall a good read but with a let-down ending.
